Rhythm is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or share any personal information.

1. Introduction

Rhythm Music Player is a free, open-source music player for Android. This policy explains how the app handles data.

2. No Data Collection

Rhythm does not collect or transmit any personal information, device identifiers, location data, usage analytics, or listening history.

3. Local Data Only

All data stays on your device: music library scans, play counts, app settings, and playlists are stored locally.

4. Optional Online Features

When enabled, the app may contact third-party services for artwork (Deezer, YouTube Music) and lyrics (LRCLib). Only song metadata is sent — no personal information.

5. Permissions

  • READ_MEDIA_AUDIO: Access local music files
  • INTERNET: Optional features (artwork, lyrics)
  • FOREGROUND_SERVICE: Background playback
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Playback controls

6. Open Source

Fully open-source under GPL v3. Review the code at github.com/cromaguy/Rhythm.
