Weblate is the Only Supported Way to Translate

Please do not open Pull Requests that modify app/src/main/res/values-*/strings.xml files directly on GitHub. Weblate manages these files and syncs them back to the repository automatically via its own automated PRs. Manual edits will conflict with and be overwritten by Weblate.

Translation Guidelines

data_object

Do Not Translate Format Specifiers

Never translate placeholders such as %1$s, %2$d, %s, or %d. These are replaced dynamically at runtime by song titles, artist names, numbers, or timestamps.

aspect_ratio

Keep UI Strings Concise

Mobile displays have limited space. Ensure button text and navigation labels remain concise so they fit comfortably without truncation.

equalizer

Audio & Technical Terminology

Keep established audio terms standard and consistent (e.g. AutoEQ, Media3, ExoPlayer, Gapless, Replay Gain, Bitrate).

notes

Check String Context & Notes

Use Weblate's string explanations to understand whether a word is used as a verb or noun (e.g. "Queue", "Play", "Scan") and handle plural forms accurately.
