Rhythm is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or share any personal information from our users.

1. Introduction
Rhythm Music Player ("we," "our," or "the app") is a free, open-source music player for Android. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles data when you use it.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Rhythm does not collect or transmit any of the following:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
- Device identifiers (IMEI, Android ID, advertising ID)
- Location data
- Usage analytics or crash reports
- Listening history or playback statistics
- Contact information
- Any other personally identifiable information
3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
All app data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to external servers:
- Music Library: The app scans your device's local music files to create a playable library
- Playback Statistics: Play counts, last played times, and favorites are stored locally
- App Settings: Your preferences (theme, equalizer settings, etc.) are saved locally
- Playlists: Custom playlists you create are stored only on your device
- Downloaded Artwork: Album covers and artist images fetched from online sources are cached locally
4. Internet Access and Third-Party Services
Rhythm may use internet connectivity for optional features. These features are disabled by default and require your explicit opt-in:
4.1 Optional Online Features (User Configurable)
- Deezer API: To fetch album artwork and artist images (if enabled in settings)
- YouTube Music API: To fetch additional album artwork (if enabled in settings)
- LRCLib: To download synchronized lyrics for songs (if enabled in settings)
4.2 Data Sent to Third-Party Services
When you enable online features, the following minimal data may be sent:
- Song Metadata: Artist name, song title, album name (for artwork/lyrics lookup)
- API Requests: Standard HTTP requests to retrieve images or lyrics
Important: No personal information is included in these requests. The data is only used to enhance your music listening experience.
4.3 Third-Party Privacy Policies
When you use optional online features, the following third-party services may be contacted:
- Deezer: Deezer Privacy Policy
- YouTube Music (Google): Google Privacy Policy
- LRCLib: Open-source lyrics service with no tracking
5. Permissions Used by the App
Rhythm requests the following Android permissions:
- READ_MEDIA_AUDIO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: To access and play your local music files
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: To save downloaded artwork and playlists (Android 9 and below)
- INTERNET: For optional online features (artwork, lyrics)
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE: To play music in the background
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To display playback notifications (Android 13+)
- WAKE_LOCK: To keep music playing when screen is off
All permissions are used solely for app functionality and not for data collection.
6. Children's Privacy
Rhythm does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not require any account creation or personal information.
7. Data Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends on your device's security settings. We recommend keeping your device updated and using lock screen protection.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the app and on our GitHub repository. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Since Rhythm does not collect any personal data, there is no data to:
- Request access to

- Request correction of
- Export or transfer
All your data remains under your control on your device.
